Going to see my doc tomorrow for my two week check up to see how my new meds are doing. I am thinking of asking him to change them but im not sure just yet. They have made me a little more positive and my moods more stable, but they havent improved my motivation. Im actually LESS motivated then I was before. And this means sometimes not having a shower or leaving the house.
Any advice on whether I should ask him to change them. I know he might just say stick with it for a while but has anyone had experiences like this with meds making you less motivated?
Thanks all

you're only been on them 2 weeks? Many take much longer to fully build up in your system, give them a little longer

I would stay with them, you are fortunate to get some benefits this quickly. Discuss it with your doc and see what he says. Your mind and body needs to get used to these new drugs. (hugs)

Yes i have. i was told i was practically horizontal for months untill the doctor changed them. I didnt have a care in the world. I didnt have the motavation to sort out my problems. When i change things got better. Good luck

also, with some side-affects they will go away once your body has time to adjust

What meds is it? If they re helping with the positive thinking then surely you might just need to set yourself a tiny physical task each day and see how you go. Not sure really but my biggest battle when Im low is negative thoughts x Some meds take a month to properly kick in as well

They're citalopram (celexa). I suppose ill just talk to my doc about it. But my meds in the past havent done this too me before so thats why im little frustrated. Thanks all.

im on citalapram too, have been for just over a year. it will take a bit longer than 2 weeks to get your motivation back but it will come. try the positive thinking and hang on in there, im sure it will be ok. take care xx

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
