We have had our Great Dane for about a year and a half. She has never been vicious toward anyone. Tonight, she bit Amanda. I had to take her to the er for stiches around her eye. The dog has never been nasty. She is playful and clumsy but she has never hurt anyone because of meanness. Amanda said the dog was sleeping when she came up to her. The doc and nurse at the er said that happens sometimes when dogs are sleeping and startled. I can give the dog back to the woman I got her from. She does not have young kids and she said she would take her back if we didn't want her anymore. Do you guys think I should give her back or was this an accident because the dog was startled out of sleep? I love the dog but Amanda's safety must come first.
