Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Something that irks me lately are the absolutely absurd posts going up. There are times when I come on here, and you see several ridiculous posts from the same people and there are like 5 or 6 on one page. I know this is a depression site, and we all need to laugh and have fun, and I am not objecting to off topic posts, but I do find it a bit irksome that the boards get clogged up with some of this stuff. I don't go in and read them, so please don't tell me that, and I am not saying censorship needs to be done. I am not trying to infringe on anyone's right to free speech, I am just trying to state my feelings about something. Please don't attack me, I am not attacking anybody, just stating my feelings.

I just asked my husband to read a short article on what it's like to suffer with bpd and how to basically be with someone who has it. (He used to work in the psychiatric field.). He could not have responded in a worse way. He totally attacked me, blamed and shamed me,yelled at me saying I don't try to get help which is totally untrue. I'm always working on myself. I felt terrible. I...

sorry you are irked....
Its not hard to see though if you note when there are serious posts they are responded to with grace, validation and support. It is very hard to have a post here that goes by without being noticed by someone.
So maybe this particular board isnt as monotonous in its subject matter as some of the others. But you can look at that as a means for something invalidating, or something to bring more spice.
And besides; when you deal with a group of so many people suffering from depression - which helps more - talking CONSTANTLY about what brings you down day in and day out, or looking on the discussions bored one morning and seeing something completely random, lighthearded discussion there that YOU are always welcome and invited to participate in. And at the same time you know that these same people that you can laugh with will be there for you when you are at your absolute lowest, they will respond.
So I am sorry if you feel that something has come in your way of seeking help, but please try and see that even though this board can have a lighthearted fashion it is in fact perfectly serious and you can utilize that when you are in need.

I definitely do put off topic stuff on the main board, If it's something sensitive, or something that might cause an argument, I'll stick it off topic. --
---But until someone from upstairs reprimands me for doing it I will most likely continue.
just being honest.
