A fellow member of DS, gameplay032001, asked some really great questions regarding the post titled "Rarely Are Members of the Same Family Born Under the Same Roof."

"How do you obtain this? How did you meet those people? How did you befriend them and learn to trust them and vice versa? How do you find those people on real-life you can have that connection with? It just seems so hard. There seem to be 5 out of 100 people that are good in this world."
Here is my responce;
"Great questions!!! Thanks for asking. Please know I'm not an expert at any of this, more like just my thoughts. It really is a deep subject. The people I have connected with in life, those I consider my real family, came into my life, not me seeking them out. I've been fortunate to recognize these family members, and embrace them. Trust was developed slowly, over time. Each person reveals a bit of personal information about themselves that is part of what they feel vulnerable about. If the other person respects it, doesn't use it to hurt the other person, and keeps it private, that builds trust. To be honest, it can be scary. I don't agree, with all respect, with your ratio of good people verses bad people. My view is that the majority of people are good natured, and mean well. I think it "seems that there are a majority of bad people" because most of us get damaged by our life experiences, which makes it hard for us to make connections, and makes it hard to fully open up and trust. I think if we somehow had xray vision that allowed us to see the true hearts of others, we would spend alot of time crying out of compassion. I hope my thoughts help with some of your questions."

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Confiding and connecting with someone is a completely different matter
When depressed, I often find myslef irritable and judging folks and the world as harshly as I am judging myself...
In reality I empathize and know I have NEVER ever met a perfect person,
Hope this is not offensive, but for me, I use Christs example as a barometer for expectations of friends,
He had a close circle
Was available to anyone in need
Was let down and forgave
and unlike me, never let anyone down..
accepting fallibility of others and ourselves helps break down that barrier to "need"
not a sermon, just a thought
Hiareth, not offensive in the least to share about Christ. In fact, thank you!! for sharing that.
