Today i went to the grocery store to pick up a few things for the weekend...i was in the deli section and they had ham that you buy a pound and get a pound free, or get a pound half price.. it was a top brand of ham so i got a pound cut.. beside me was a woman that appeared in dire straits. she asked the lady behind the counter if she had any ham for about three dollars a pound.. the lady began to tell her the brands she had that were all about 7 dollars a pound. this poor lady apparently didn't see the sign of the sale. i thought " why isn't she telling her she can get a pound of the ham on sale for about 3 dollars.. she didn't!!! here is this poor woman standing here at my side with tattered clothes and wool socks on, both of a different color and it is 90 degrees hot outside... she walks away and i go and get her and tell her she can get her ham at the price she wants. both these woman behind the counter are looking at me like they want to kill me... after i get in the car to drive home i am thinking how could anyone treat a person in this manner. i mean i would have bought her that pound of ham she wanted at full price... !! all the way home i thought of how blessed most of us are.. in spite of all our problems, most of us are blessed... then i thought of this woman and i wondered where she would be laying her head tonight.... as i sit here on the eve of America's birthday i am sad that there are homeless here and all around the world... there is no need for anyone to be homeless. i found myself searching for information on this topic this afternoon and i have learned a lot... i found this on youtube.. it has shown me just how blessed i am. may we all look at our lives and never take for granted the blessings we have.... this video is attached to a christmas song but i think it fits the mood i am in after today.. i love you all so much..... if you can, please take a few minutes to see how blessed most of us are tonight....
