i know how hard the economy's been on EVERYONE. my mom doesn't have enough money for an xmas tree or getting gifts for people. we're just spending the day together watching movies. no big family dinner because she doesn't have family. on my dad's side, we have plenty of family, but i'd rather spend it with my mom. i know if i go with my dad i'll get lots of presents but that doesn't matter to me. money doesn't matter because xmas is about family and celebrating Jesus's birth. i'm sorry but it gets me so mad when i hear people complaining about money and xmas. my dad and stepmom are working their butts off trying to make ends meet. we've never been rich and so what if we're poorer now? we're still human beings! my little brother's a brat, he gets everything he wants. i know this xmas will teach him some lessons. i know everyone wants to get all this and that for their children/family/spouses but instead of being so stressed over money, let it go. this is not the spirit of Christmas. just be thankful and happy you have a family. that you have people to wake up to in the morning. xmas has been blown up into this huge ordeal with having to buy gifts for people. don't get me wrong, i'm buying gifts too. but my friends and family understand that money's tight and on top of it i'm only 18. i'm not stressing about it. neither is my family because we know what the real meaning of Christmas is. i'm just trying to help by pretty much saying dont stress over money. the people that care and love you will understand. the people who aren't thankful for what they are gonna get SHOULD learn a lesson about the true meaning of xmas and learn to not be so greedy. DONT STRESS!!!
