I have found several articles today that have 2 opposing theories. One is that depression leads to back pain and the reverse, that pain leads to depression.
Has anyone found any research on using Neurontin or other neurological pain meds for both pain and depression?
Or has anyone used this type of med for depression (I believe the name is noratryptiline -- different from amitryptiline).

It is known that depression increases your sensitivity to pain.
I am not sure why depression would cause back pain specifically, but it may start back pain that was on the threshold of being there and wasn't noticed preiviously, by causing increased sensitivity.
nortruptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant.
