One thing that annoys me no end is the attitude that society takes towards mental problems like depression. Depression is a disease like any other and we as a society need to change our attitude towards mental problems.
The Globe and Mail, a newspaper here in Canada, has been running a series on mental health issues and I just thought I'd give you a heads up on this series as I think it's been very helpful in bringing this into the public spotlight in a positive way. The URL is: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/breakdown
There's an awful lot of good information in this series, so dig deep and understand that attitudes are changing and we have nothing to be ashamed of.
Best,
Richie

wow, thanks for the link. this looks so helpful. i was watching a story on my local news that seemed helpful at first, but then they actually offended me b/c the topic was depression and in a two or three minute segment, they made sure they used the phrase "mental illness" like 100 times. I found it quite degrading. Like over and over again. Mental illness, mental illness. It's like ok, we get it.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
