Trigger warning, So last night I learned that my knee surgery is likely to cancelled but I had an appointment with physio to see if I could go home after the surgery. "I worked all weekend and dont see and end in sight to this." My office received an unusual amount of work during the last 3 months, and generally handled it. Suggestions,
1. First work on priorities, which can be what things can be done reasonably quickly or based upon importance.
2. A smart boss rewards and acknowledges good employees.
3. Recognize if there is too much work, that is not your problem, particularly if you are working hard. I have a family member in an important executive position with a Fortune 500 company, he works hard but also plays hard, leaving the work at the end of the day.
4. Set aside some free time for yourself.
5. If your boss or company are difficult and you have good skills, then keep quiet but create a plan where you may find another position.
Good luck and hope things go better.
What is making you feel overwhelmed? Do you have a list of things written down?
I find if I keep things in my head then I begin to feel overwhelmed. But once I right it down and then prioritize what has to be done for the day. I feel a bit better.
After years of struggling with depression and being a perfectionist. I have learned I can't do everything all the time and I there is no such thing as perfect. Some things just have to wait to get done.
Can you look at what you feel overwhelmed with, jot it down, and then mark what can wait till another time? If not maybe you can discuss this with your boss. I will be praying you give yourself a break, don't be hard on yourself, do your best because that is all you can do, and remember no one is perfect... we all need down time. If you need to chat feel free to pm me. Hugs and God Bless
You worked all week, you need to have time for yourself. Practice self-care by doing things that you will enjoy.
Walking in the park for 30 minutes is one of my ways of taking care of myself especially with sunlight. That’s my natural medicine for uplifting my mood.
Do you have a friend you can share your feelings with? Talk to someone you can trust. You can also write down your thoughts in your journal, it’s like talking to a friend. Feel free to share in the group anytime about anything. I hope you will be comforted here.
Please keep us posted, God bless.
