sorry if I posted this already, I can't seem to find it, and can't remember whether I did or not :-S
this is an extract from my journal......
On the subject of f tho, i'm quite worried, he gets bowts of quite severe deppression and he won't do anything to help himself. He doesn't really do anything or see anyone outside of uni and the pressures pilling on him, he has 2 major exams in 4/5 weeks, a big project due in in 2 weeks, an interview on monday for the place im working next summer, and he sees it as the end of the world if he doesnt get firsts in his exams and get this job, when in reality he's doing really well and doesn't need to put himself under that pressure! I can here in his voice something is wrong, but he tells me there isn't then phones up 30 mins later in tears. i really wanna help him (I hate not being able to help people, it really, really upsets me, stemming from my best friend.....long story), but he won't listen to any of my suggestions and now trys to claim he's not down, just tired, he's in denial. I'm on the other side of the country and I just wanna be there to help him!!! It's really hard! Aditionally he says he can feel his heart pounding in his cheast, that was the first sign I had last year that something was wrong, which I ignored and ended up seriously ill and anxious from it!!! I don't wanna see him suffering like me because he ignores it! It would break my heart!
He's always there for me, he couldn't have been more supportive when I was ill, he had to put up with all my mood swings and drove for an hour to pick me up after he'd just left that day to pick me up when I was first ill and thought summat was seriously wrong. I want to be there for him just as much, but I don't know how!......I'm nearly crying now
does anyone have any idea what I can do to help?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Its wonderful you want to help him. Just keep talking to him.
it really gets me down

If he won't see his doctor there are herbal calming remedies he can try including rescue remedy, lavander oil and 'Kalms' tablets (well, we have them in the UK)
You can help him best by not stressing yourself out, and by giving him calm constructive support xxx
