There is nothing better then finding your mom drunk on the floor passed out. Divorce really does suck.

I am really sorry for you and your mom. Just be there for her now, maybe you's two can work thru the drinking and divorce together.

I feel for you and your mother. You mentioned "divorce" If she is the devorced one more than likely she is hurting badly and hids behind alcohol. Hoping the best for both of you.

I hope you know that there are other ways to deal with the break up of relationships than alcohol and alcohol to excess.

If it becomes a pattern, you might need to sit your mom down and let her know how you feel about coming home and finding he like this. She could have been hurt falling.

Mary, I was a drunk when my heart was broken. I am an alcoholic who has not had a drink for over a year now. Don't give up on her, love her and show her how to cope without alcohol. hugs.

I am also very sorry to hear that anyone else has to go through this. You are not alone. I grew up in a household plagued with alcoholism. It is much more than someone having too much to drink. I highly recommend the book: Children of Alcoholism (A survivors manual) by Sexias and Youcha.
I am always open to talking about this privately if you ever need it.

Sorry to here your mums going through such a bad time. I got very drunk about a week later of being dumped. Its what i needed to do at that time. Prayers to you both ((HUGS))

I'm sorry Mary, I know exactly how you feel. When I was in high school I found my dad passed out many times, on the floor, at his desk, at the kitchen table...wherever. It's just something you don't ever want to see and makes you feel like you need to take care of your parent when it should be the other way around.

I'm sorry that you have to go through this. I know that it must be hard for you. Show your mother that you love her and let her know that you want her to stop drinking. We've all had a broken heart at some point or another and I've wanted to go and get drunk myself.

Give her some time maybe things will turn around.

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??
