Well...I'm on 10mg Lexapro but I don't feel like it takes care of the anxiety enough (I'm plagued with situational anxiety). Called the doc and she prescribed Ativan (take as needed she said)..
I had a difficult time convincing myself to take the Lexapro...now I'm full of anxiety about mixing these meds...
Has anyone here had any experience with these two drugs interacting (positively or negatively)?
Hugs, Winnie
p.s. I posted this in the anxiety community as well...so my apologies for the repeat for anyone reading it twice :)

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
Ativan is a very potent and usually effective medication. Do not take more than you are prescribed, as it can raise your heart rate, and too much can be very bad for you.
As far as I can tell, it should be quite safe to take them together - you can always call your pharmacist (they usually have your information plugged in to pharmaceutical software now, too, so you even have that as a backup - the computer as well as the pharmacist to double check for your Dr. whether or not something is safe to take.) Unless yu are getting your meds from two different pharmacies.
Also, be sure you are telling your Dr. whether or not you are taking any herbal supplements, like St. John's Wort (which works like a tricyclic antidepressant) some antidepressants should not be mixed together.
or, www.drugs.com is also a good place to find lots of info on your meds.
but they don't mix adversely. no worries there.
