I know it doesnt need to be said...
but it bothers me.
Ive noticed a lot of women on this site treat men like crap. then post that yet another man has done them wrong. nothing sexual, i dont think they ever meet in person, just general respect. its not really any one post, its just the general acceptance that that so many have been wronged, that you feel like its acceptable to generalize that all men are like that.
Im pretty depressed, with low self esteem. but even I dont put up with that kind of crap. a relationship, in any form, even just friends. needs to be balanced. you get what you give, and you treat others how you would wanted to be treated.
any one who would let you insult them, is either going to be completely broken, and let you become what you hate. or is putting up with it, because they have something else in store. whether its your way of healing or you feel like its going to filter the bad ones away... it doesnt.
when you go around treating men like shit, youre making yourself a target. they know youre hurt, and how to strike your directly, and youre ignorant enough to let them. because you feel like youre in control. you hurt and push away the ones that could help you, to let the ones that want to hurt you in.
if youre not okay enough to forgive and forget, then you dont need to be communicating online. youre thrashing in calm waters, and creating the waves that hold you under.

I have become my moms caregiver after she had a stroke on Mother’s Day. I am 59 and married for 32 years. Mom is 77 and dependent on me for a lot of her cares. She can feed herself, can stand for very short periods, and can use the bathroom. She cannot be left long by herself. So far maybe an hour at most. She needs help dressing, bathing, cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. I took early...

My grandma hasn't been diagnosed with anything YET but she recently moved into an independent living community near me (her granddaughter) and I am realizing how terribly confused and negative she is all the time. She has regular hallucinations, doesn't pay her bills, can't remember what day or month it is, and all she does is COMPLAIN about how terrible her life is. Half the time I have no...
But when we are fragile, or hurting, or depressed, hearing that and being an "X" can be difficult. We read in, invent, hear things that were not there, all sorts of things to turn the remark around into a personal attack.
It is a staple of sitcoms on TV. A teenager has broken up with their love, are talking about it with their same gender parent, and both agree that (you guessed it) all (men/women) are evil. Then the other parent walks in and says "Hey, I heard that!" Followed by a "but I know what you mean. I will leave you two to talk."
But here some of the hurts are more deep than a high school crush ending, and it takes more than a talk with mom or dad to feel better.
I agree it is pointless to argue about whom is hurt more. We need to focus on helping one another heal. And if that means spending some time declaring that "all X are evil", then that is what we do.
