I have been in a situation where I have been on the search for a new job working in a dental office. I am studying to be a dental assistant. So I have been applying for work, and I have a difficult situation and wanted to ask you all for advice. When i go on a job interview, do I disclose the fact that this summer we are adopting a baby and I may need time off, or should I wait until I get hired to tell them that, because basically I went on one interview and told them I was adopting a baby, and it would be in the summer of 2007, and I think that killed my chances to get that job. I just want to work part time when I get the baby, and have been applying for part time jobs, I don't plan to leave my job when I get the infant, just take a 8 week maternity type of leave, then go back to work part time. Do you think that me telling people about my adoption is a good idea or a bad idea? Is it any of their business? I thought it was the right thing to do, but many people I have talked to told me not to say anyting until I get hired. Is THAT the right thing to do????

My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
