I have experienced anxiety in the past but not like this.
dont know what is happening to me right now.My heart is racing I am sweating and breathing fast and I have a cold sweat.
Is this anxiety or a panic attack? How can I calm my heart rate down.Do I need to call someone home or will this ease off?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Thanks

So you can see what extremes anxiety reaches.
Sit still - don't stand up. Concentrate as hard as you possibly can on breathing nice, deep, and slow. Find something to distract you - like reading or playing an online game - something that will slow down the racing thoughts.
I know its scary but your heartrate WILL slow down and you WILL be ok.
Do you feel scared or hurried, are your thoughts racing along with your mind, are you hyperventilating IE breathing too fast so that your fingers and nose start to go numb?
These are part of an anxiety attack
I will share what has helped me.
Breathing is definitely helpful. I take big deep breaths (through the nose if you can) and exhale as slowly as possible. I do this until I almost feel a headrush coming on. It helps a LOT.
Next, pick a mantra...ANYTHING will do. It can be positive, funny, a quote, a prayer...Just so that you can repeat it easily, over and over. It helps bring your mind and your body into focus.
One more thing that has really made a huge impact, for me, is drinking chamomile tea. It has soothing properties, and is often recommended as a sleep aid. I use it for that purpose, but also when my heart is racing.
When I am in a bad way, I wake up every morning with a major anxiety attack. I began drinking chamomile tea in the mornings to get through the early morning anxiety, and it has helped so much.
I hope some of this, or somebody else's advice will help you. I know what you are experiencing and I wish it away for you.
May peace find you soon.
