Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
From some of the research I've read over the years most of what we accept as common emotions have a genetic component even things like anger.
While it may be normal for "everyone" to be depressed or angry in appropriate settings there are some of us who become angrier or depressed when our environment tells us (and those who deal wiht us) that we have no good reason for our reactions. That judgement call also causes most of us to feel guilty at times for our feelings which we are powerless to avoid which sets up a repeating cycle.
