Is it considered bad manners to bump your own post? (I am "guilty" of this, on occasion.) Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I also notice a couple of people (not mentioning names) bumping their own post to keep the attention on them. Enough said on that.
Pretty much, whenever I've bumped my post it is because I feel that it is a timely message (for example I recall bumping "Compassion" a number of times when the site was getting a little (or a lot!! LOL) crazy.) I also bumped "Mangos and CULTure" because people were having such fun with it.
