We got an email last week from my sister inlaw about some private matters. She wrote in the email - Tania has been and is still going through, a period of one of the most severe cases of depression I have come across in a while .The amount of medication she is taking is the most I have seen prescribed to anyone with depression. -
It kind of took me back a step. I really didn't think i was that bad. I told my therapist and I asked her if i was that bad and she gave me one of those looks and then said "yes you are"
I know im not great, but didnt realise i was that bad. i guess its because i always play things down
I never let on how bad i feel or anything.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Do you think that the level of depression is more important or that you're getting the help that you need
You may be low dose, or high dose. I'm not sure how your relative or therapist is determining this. Even a family doc, only has brief exposure to the meds that often prescribed in mental health issues -- staying current on treatments is a life long pursuit for professionals.
I find meds work differently for everyone, even if you are closer to a high dose -- we need to do what works and gets back to living normal lives.
I had somebody tell me the other day I would either get help or die within 6 months. I was like "Excuse, me???". I'm depressed, yes. I have my problems. But I'm certainly not going to end up dead because of them. Sometimes people assume too much.
