I hate them, I hate them, I hate them! well most of them. I have only found one good doctor. where are they? I went to the doctors today, for the first ever time about being depressed. I'm sure you all understand that it takes a lot of courage to do that, well it did for me anyway. I asked to be referred to see a counsellor and she said well we don't just refer anyone you know.....completely dismissing me. To which I burst into tears (very embarrassing) and she got so uncomfortable she couldn't even look at me! and then burst out laughing when I said I was studying psychology, because yeah, no doctor or psychologist gets mental health issues do they? and I left with a leaflet telling me about self-help brochures I could look at, well thank you! like I haven't already tried looking at everything!
Sorry for the rant, I was just so upset, and now I'm just more angry.

I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. That doctor should have never laughed at you. Sounds to me like she needs help.
There are good doctors out there just keep looking.
That was rude and unprofessional th manner in which the Dr. reacted
With an open mind she were to listen as you voice your concerns and then make an analysis. Despite you studdying psychology or not.
This is in her capacity to look into what questions and matters you brought to her attention.
It sure would be nice to report to the Head Dr (hoping she is not).. or possibly the person in charge at the location.
How about looking into a naturopathic Dr? You come across many who sincerely cares about your well being. You may want to check into it.
All in all you deserve to be commended for going to address dealing with depression. Way to Go! Courageous indeed.
Hugs and smiles
