hi there, yesterday in one of the papers they recommended a product as a rememdy for depression it was st johns wort with passion flower. They said it was more effective than st johns wort on its own.
As i have spent a fortune on herbal remedies i wondered if anyone has tried this and if so did you find it effective?
I have almost given up on finding something that helps but everytime i read about a produce it gives me hope but dont want to waste more money.
Thanks x

Well I dont know about that. I know excercise and eating right works. I just can't find the damn energy for it.

I've heard that St Johns Wort is really helpful with mild depression but it has to be a certain type of wort and at a specific dose, and not all varieties available in the stores meet the required dose. Can you speak to a herbalist/naturopath. Lots of stores have these as employees. You cannot take St Johns with conventional anti-depressants, so best to talk to your GP first before you take anything new.

I used passion flower before as a calmative aid and for sleep. Can't say it actually did anything for me but that's not to say that it doesn't work for others

i have wasted so much money on various things. i exercise and this does help but have an injury at the moment and have been told only to do light exercise. i also lost my dog last week, she had to be put to sleep and i so miss walking her. ive tried st johns wort, 5htp, fish oils, prozac etc but nothing seems to work. The passiflower tablets are 10. for two weeks supply which seems quite expensive so wanted to be sure before i try another thing. Where can you get SAM e?

I got SAM-e at a Vitamin store. But I have seen it in Pharmacy's also in the vitamin section.

Exercise is crucial to overcoming your depression also. Exercise helps the body create the critical chemicals and hormones in your body that prevent and fight off depression. Also reduces Stress and once you start seeing results, helps your self esteem and self confidence.

I haven't felt this bad since 2015. I hate it. I know exactly what's going on, I'm no stranger to depression but I can't get the motivation to get out of bed today even though I know it would help. It's 2:30 p.m. and I'm still in bed. My husband jokes that I'm a grizzly bear. He knows about my depression. I don't know if he doesn't realize how bad I feel or if he just doesn't know how to...

I have been thinking of leaving my DH for years. I have given up hope of him being able to talk to me, be honest to me, not lie, be able to discuss things, not be secretive, care about me and put any effort into our marriage. There is nothing physical between us and he makes sure when in bed not to even let our skin touch. i have tried so many times to talk to him even saying that i am looking...
