I have issues with depression. I am on medication for depression.
I have been on a disability pension from work since Oct/08.
I have worked for the last 22 years, but the last few years work was really sucking the life out of me emotionally, physically, and mentally.
In the beginning not going to work was a blessing for me.
Now I cant seem to get anything done regarding my personal care or keeping my house neat and tidy.
My whole house is a disaster and it is upsetting me but I dont know where to start. The whole issue is making me more depressed and sad.
I dont know what to do.
I have no routine to follow now that I cant work anymore.

A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
this is something my therapist suggested I do, as I too haven't worked in a few years and the smallest of tasks seem so over-whelming to me
I think I am going to set up a weekly routine to follow. So I can have it on paper I think will help me. I use to be a very organized person and I miss that person.
If you want there is an awesome web site www.flylady.com or .net one. It helps you get into a weekly routine and gives you ways to help clean and deal with clutter.
Best of luck!
I am so glad to know that I am not alone.
Slrow, thank you for that website. I looked at it and this is something I have been looking for. I saved it so I can go back later. God Bless us all. Peggy
I find getting up that little bit earlier and GETTING DRESSED helps...
When I'm really down I just tell myself it's ok to just "do the basics"
Even if you get one job done per day,it is better than nothing and you will feel better for doing it.
Try to get outside once a day, even if it's for just ten minutes,as I find that a short walk will help clear my head...
Maybe as time goes by,you can add things to do each day.
Don't forget to include taking some time for yourself,even if it's ten minutes..have a nice hot bubble bath,read a good book or go and treat yourself to something nice that you want{it dosen't have to be expensive}
I hope you start to feel better soonxoxo
If you try too much too soon you will fail and be more depressed. Gradually you will be able to add more and more each week. But main thing is to be patient with yourself. It has taken me months just to get going again. I wish you love xx
