Thats like talking to an imaginary friend. You share feelings, you rant but they give nothing back.
Its like putting a $1.00 into a soda machine and nothing comes out.
Its like opening a fortune cookie but the fortune is missing.
Like pouring cereal into a bowl going to the friege for milk and there is none.
Driving to the store on a sunday only to learn they are closed on Sundays.
Putting your card in the ATM machine but the money has ran out.
so on and so forth

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
It's like putting $1.00 in a soda machine and getting your money back!
It's like opening a fortune cookie and having your fortune say, "Tomorrow brings much happiness" (I kept this one)
Like finding that you're out of milk, so I'll treat myself to an omelette instead!
When you drive to the store on Sunday and it's closed, go for a relaxing drive since you're out already.
Those are just examples of what the power of positive thinking can do.
Strive for what you can acheive and not for what is not within your reach. Read the thread I posted this morning on Procrastination. That list is comprised of "reachable" goals that I can achieve. Any step forward is a step in the right direction.
I've decided that since I'm getting a tax return this year (Yippie!!!!!) I'm going to treat myself to a day at the spa. I feel selfish as all hell doing it, but at the very least I'm going to get myself a message and drink some type of foo-foo drink and enjoy it - why because I deserve it....and if I don't do things for myself - who will?
I think it's a daily struggle for a lot of us to find positive things. Somedays it's easier than others.
I hope being on DS with your friends and the support will be a positive thing for you.

I struggle greatly with "positive thinking" It pisses me off. I feel like I am trying to talk myself out of my valid feelings of not feeling so great for a very good reason. I know that thinking positive is a good thing. I also know that my mother, who is/was a monster and a child moslester, cannot tolerate any thing BUT positive talk - so I feel like I am embibing in her "permanent positive denial" state when I think positive. And it reminds me too much of her. Can't do it. Makes me feel nauseous, angry, and a liar to think positive!!!
