Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

DS is like a second (even first) home to many of us. I have only been here for 2 months and already I have made lasting friendships. I have friends to laugh with, to cry with. I have aquaintances with many, it's not that we don't want friendship, I think it's more that we have so many other friends, it's hard to find the time. Strangers put up discussion notices, I respond. Sometimes those strangers become aquaintances, sometimes that leads to friendship.
Tonight I have learned that strangers have sent me messages of sympathy and support when I announced that my beloved dog had just died.
Here is a place of comfort, a place where we can all support each other in whatever way we can.
In these notices, so many find the strength and courage to continue. We see hope, light at the end of other peoples tunnels, so we believe that for ourselves.
We sometimes have huge differences of opinions, to me that is a good thing. Here we share our feelings and experiences.
Here is not the place to fight (unless it's a boxing match, for those who participated in that fun) here is a place that we should unite together.
Here is the place to fight this awfull illness called depression.
I welcome strangers, I am gratefull for my aquaintances, I am indebted to my friends.
Tonight I lost my best friend, as so many of you know.
So, thank you strangers, thank you aquaintances, thank you friends.
Please add your thanks too, if you feel you can. Make it personal if you wish, I don't make the rules, it's up to you.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
in a way, I feel guilty when I sign on... I s'pose I feel so good some days, I don't wanna hog all the friendship and well wishes. I hope I am doin my part to spread it around.
What you said is really beautiful. Thanks for sharing
