Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Guys..I think it is soooooo sad that every single word written in this community is dissected and picked apart and twisted and turned into something it was never meant to mean in the first place...There is so much of it going on in here, I dont know if its because of all the depression or what, but its really sad. I read so many different kinds of threads on here daily and I see the same thing in each one, This person gets mad because this person said that and then this other person reading what those two are saying jumps in and says something then before you know it, the orignial thread entitled "Give out a hug" is not the headline any longer, it should be renamed to.. "And on the next episode of Jerry Springer.."
My point is...instead of assuming things the way you think, why not ask the person "Hey what did you mean by that?" or Am I taking this the wrong way?" that would help clear up soooooooo much drama its not funny!
Hugs to you all! Even those who do not have an animal avatar!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
All I know is that if you're having a "bad" day around here, you better damn well have the presence of mind to say so, or you'll be attacked for your "attitude". This is a depression board.
In addition, there was lady here who said something about the language. SO F'ING what. She's right IMO, but for those that don't think so, what is the point is post after post disagreeing with her and getting offended. Everyone had to vent. Well, one of these days I'm going to get so flipping fed up I'm going to put up a thread calling everyone who eats swiss cheese a God forsaken asshole, and watch the amount of responses I get.
Heaven knows no one is going to just ignore me, allow me to vent and move on. They will make it thier personal mission in life to correct me. Never mind the fact that the night before I may have swallowed a bottle of Valium and I'm just not feeling well.
Unfortunately, if DS history is any example I think we'll continue to see the drama, especially if its a thread that cuts particularly close to someone heart/issues they're personally dealing with at the moment.
I do hope your last paragraph sees its way to fruition, though.
Sometimes hard to do but it does help to allieviate some of the miscommunications/assumptions going on.
Oh, that's right...you heard me - cheese eater LOLOLOL
It's a shame that there are constant arguments everyday but unfortunately this is a regular occurence in almost all internet forums. It's also difficult not to get sucked in when you do vehemently disagree with something.
I think so long as we are all still receiving teh support that we need, people shouldn't feel the need to leave this site.
