Hi I've suffered with unipolar depression most of my adult life. Recently, I've had episodes of feeling quite high and euphoric. I feel like I can conquer the world. Its not anxiety I'm feeling or agitation. My meds were increased about 4 months ago (Cipramil, from 20mg to 40mg)and I wondered if it may be due to this, but these episodes have just started recently. Has anyone experienced somthing similar? I know these episodes sound a bit like bipolar, but I'm not sure of that. Just wondered if it may be a new part of my depression????

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
The one classic sign of mania is, out of control spending...also, drinking, drugs, increased sex drive, etc.
I'm not sure what Cipramil is -- if it is an antidepressant, and you were on a relatively low dose, and if you are bipolar, the low dose may not have been enough to kick you into mania....which often happens, and that is frequently how some people find out they are bipolar.
The main indicator of bipolar disorder is the extremes in swings, and two seperate sets of symptoms.
