Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I myself suffer from a dislocated knee (dislocated it both inwards and outwards so my tendons are shot and I have what they call crepatice (sp) which is quite painful and years ago I compacted my spine in a vehicle accident injuring L4 L5 and S2 vertebrae. I can live with everyday dull pain (cos you tend to build a tolerance to it), but it's the excruciating and intense pain that gets me . When it gets to that point I get really grumpy and snap at everything because all my body seems to focus on is the blinding pain in my body.
gah...I can't seem to get the words out properly. What I'm trying to say is that physical pain tends to cause emotional problems sometimes
Does using a heat pack help to reduce the pain levels? Or maybe some anti-inflammatory balm?
If you can target the psychical pain and reduce it maybe it will help to reduce the emotional pain a bit
If heat helps to reduce the pain levels, maybe a soak in the bathtub (if you have one) could help
I'm no doctor so I can only pass on what I've learned myself. Is the pain located in specific areas or throughout the whole body?
