I know that depression is biochemical and the
goal or treck I'm on is to find out which chemicals
are out of whack.
I'm taking a thyroid medicine to see If the depression
is related to a low thyroid condition.
I'm also taking 5htp and Tyrosine for seratonin and
norapranefrin. I know I did not spell that word
corectly.
I appreciate any sharing on this topic.

Depression can also be an emotionally based condition, although it, too, affects your brain chemistry. If you have burried anger, fear, or unresolved conflicts (from abuse, bad relationships, etc) that can also cause depression.
Some people describe depression like some heavy weight or burden that's pressing down (de-press) on you. External factors can have a big impact on our moods and prolong or aggrivate depression.
The goal is to actually find out what is causing your depression and then find ways to alleviate it. If your doctor determines it's all physiological, then take the meds. If there are stresses in your life that keeps you depressed, then the goal is to learn how to handle them better.
