Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

like arch said, don't worry about the label, just try to get better. Hope you are feeling better soon. I don't consider depression a "mental illness" in the same way as being psycho, or some of the other mental illness. Which when people say, mental illness, they are usually referring to illnesses with delusional or auditory illusions.

I think I'm a fruitloop lol. Whatever our labels are people shouldnt judge us. I might not be the happiest person in the world and feel low a lot of the time, but I am not ashamed. They can call me wot they like. (no offence was meant by this) xxxx

Your not mental because you have depression. Not wanting to live sometimes is part of the illness. I do suggest that you seek help from a professional. Tell him or her how you are feeling and see if there is anything they can do to make you feel better. Main thing to remember is that you are not alone in this battle.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
