I have just had a really bad experience with someone who has bipolar and it has left me feeling shell shocked and violated. I needed a roommate, i interviewed this girl, she seemed very nice and really liked my place. She also had a cat, which i didnt like at first, but i couldnt find anyone else who suited so i said ok. When she moved in she told me she had a job and was studying. Then once she moved in i found out she was actually doing neither. Eventually she told me she had bipolar. She then seemed to think it was ok to dump all of her emotional problems on me...and she had a big box of medication which she would carry around and seemed obsessed with her meds, and would tell me all about all of them. She even used to leave her meds in the loungeroom. She would sleep in evevryday til midday, and walk around looking sedated. Her cat shat inside twice and didnt take care of her cat. I told her she couldnt do this, and needed to be responsible. By this point I had had enough, I am not working at the moment either so it didnt make me happy being around her. I went away for a few days to stay with my parents. When I came back there were scattered meds all over the floor, used pads left in the bathroom and a note from her saying she had to go to hospital. Thsi was enough for me. When she eventually came home, she was very sedated, and set something on fire in the kitchen and just left it. I tried to wake her up but couldnt...i put out fire in kitchen...she eventually woke up and i told her this wasnt working and she had to move out. I said to her she didnt really seem fit to be living independantly...she freaked out and drove off, called me and blamed me for all these things...its like she moved in and expected me to take care of her...anyway shes moved half of her stuff out now, i have my key back...but i feel overwhelmed by this. it was awful.
