I've been unable to work for a long time now, and of course I have to rely on the benefit system. I am wondering if I should've applied for Disability benefit ??? Have any of you had experience of applying for this benefit while suffering with Depression?

My Mum had breast cancer last year and she had to claim benefits because she was unable to work so went through all this with her.
And search for yourself. Way back in 1970 I applied for Social Security Disability. It took three years to get disability benefits for mental disabled compounded with a physical hindrance (The short of it). That is when it was easier to get such. With Dictator Bush hatred for the common people it is much harder today. If you do apply for SSD, you will be turned down three times at which time you get a lawyer. I tried helping a reluctant person do this just a few years ago. It was the same as back in my day. Good luck.
