Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. What I did was to try and give myself some simple tasks or activities (gardening, walk in the park), and then to congratulate myself when I had done these things. And to keep doing them.
Also, to try really, really hard to find something (anything) that was a little bit attractive about myself - this was so hard to do!
These things helped me to step back from the void that I felt I was about to pitch into.
