Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Describe hate. I struggle with the meaning/feeling.

hate for me = i never want to see hear or speak to that person again in case of being charged with homicide.

fear + ignorance

really so fear and ignorance equals someone hurting you so badly you're supposed to forgive and forget simulataneously? I doubt it.

I'm glad to say I forgot the meaning, but I know it when I see it. Common terms "hate crime", "racial hatred", etc. For me it is a gut type recognition.....awful stuff.

Hate is a terrible thing to do to yourself. The physiological changes are really damaging. Hate is a feeling but it can be an action to.

hate is a very strong word... and it's tied to forgiveness ...

people who go out of there way to hurt other people represents hateful behavor for me

deleted_user
this is all very nice and philosophical but you cant help it if someone makes you love I mean truly, deeply love and care for them then fucks you over so badly you can't help but hate them. I've hated very few people in my time but those i have are not based upon anything I've done i promise you.

hate to me is anger and hurt and all other negative emotions rolled into one.

y, with insight ignorance and fear can be dealt with...and lack of forgiveness is more harmful to the victim then the perpetrator, can't start healing without forgiving and end up being consumed by hate and being miserable as well as giving the person continuing power over you.

deleted_user
well then obviously you're all far braver than i cos I CANNOT forgive anyone who forces their pain onto me intentionally.

cagedDreams
wouldn't save braver, it is more painful to live with hate rather than forgiveness so i'd say hating would need more bravery. just more insight developed through a lot of experience on the topic ;)

I did forgive. I forgave with all my heart and my soul and i was hurt again. Badly. I don't care to forgive again. I'm sorry if this is childish it's just the way it goes.

deleted_user
Arch...hating someone for what they've done is understandable. Forgiveness is not a requirement to anything. One key is to not think about what they did. It only recreates the past in the present moment each time. Nor does anyone need to love anyone who has harmed you.

I've only tuely hated one person in my life... and before she died.. on her deathbed in fact i forgave her... because I didn't want to live the rest of my life with regret.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
