I am not lying when i say that this is a type of therapy that therapist do. In my therapist's office he used to have a sand box but i had NO idea that that there were sand therapists. My art therapy class at school went on a feild trip today to a sand therapists. We learned how it helps people, what to ask and look for, etc. It was a really good trip. What you do is build in wet or dry sand with just sand or with many figures. You can build scenes and everything through metephore. Everything is throgh metephore and I think that that is great. What the woman said to us was that Trauma is stored in the left side of the brain and talking to a therapist uses the right side of the brain. Playing, drawing, and more artistic things has to do with the left side of the brain which allows the trauma to be reveiled and taken care of faster and more efficiently. It was great and I loved playing with the sand. I have to admit it is very tactile and the woman said that women that have been sexually abused have more problems playing with the wet sand than the dry sand because it is more tactile and is regressive and takes a person not fully ready to be taken back to trauma back to that place or just into a mood as such and I experienced a similar experience as that with the wet sand. Building and acting out a metephorical scene was really easy and it made me feel like it was a REALLY good form of therapy. It works for all ages and is great for anyone who needs therapy. I just thought that I would share because I think that it can help anyone who wants another form of therapy or to experience a new form of therapy that may work for them.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
