Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.

Many people can hide their emotions. But shouldnt parents be able to see how their son/daughter is feeling at this very moment?..
And if parents know..why wont they help you...
for
example.
A parent that knows about the depressions of their child..and those depressions are allready at a dangerous level..well suicidal.. and self injury would be included..
But if parents see it.. why wont they take actions..why do they just watch their kids to kill themselves..
Is it out of love..
Money problems that they dont want to send their kid to a therapist?...
I just dont understand how some parents just wont even look at their kids anymore, after seeing scars.

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
are you talking from personal experience? is there something going on that you care to share with us? we\'re here to listen.

Well okay, i have to contradict myself there, some of this is from personal experience, due to the fact that my parents didnt give a damn about me for a long time. Ofcourse not feeling loved.. and not being able to share out this love.. just causes further depressions, and leads to SI.
Ofcourse i told my parents after a while, and yer they did something about it..
so im fine.
But now back to my friend. His parents arent in the best financial position.. and they are just keeping themselves over water with their monthly wages. And they probably wont be able to pay for his medicine.. and im not sure.. if giving him mine.. would be a good idea..
But im thinking of still telling his parents.. cos after all.. love helped me out a lot.. maybe the same thing goes for him.
Like, my parents used to be 180 an hour....and it actually sums up a lot of money at the end of the month.
I know it must be frustrating for you, but one thing you can do is search your local/county/city/public services and what is provided. When dealing with public entities (anything run by the government) things can move slowly, but be persistent and get answers as where your friend may be able to go to get help.
Not to load too much on you but to add to Jeremy\'s great suggestions...all drug companies (usually the evil but they do have a soft side) have hardship programs (easy to find out how to apply online) so once he has a med prescribed his provider can always get him meds...that shouldnt be a barrier. Keep us posted and we can help direct you guys...a lot to handle as teens.
