Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.
yeah, it helps, but it isn't a healthy way to release the pain. i know that now. and after you do it for awhile it honesty does become an addiction. it may become out of control and be the only thing you think about. that's the way it was for me. my cutting became so bad that it scared me. i thought if i didn't get help soon i would die. at first cutting's a relief and it helps. but in the end it's not worth it to get yourself so deep in depression and addiction. it's just not worth it.
Cutting, for me, is another unhealthy way of unleashing stress for a couple of seconds.
You may say to yourself, that you can quite anytime. But that's a lie. I said that. And now is an addiction. and sadly, some peeps, cut too deeply, they kill them selfs. Cutting is bad. Period. But then again.
its true. once you start, it is close to impossible to start. i would much rather cut myslef than kill myself, so that is why i do it. becuase if it ever gets that bad, there will not be another option.
