So as I have realized, things get easier when you know when to quit, to give up. I've also learned poetry can be like life. In an attempt to write something I feel, I started a new poem. A few keystrokes later I had a start. I sat and looked at what was now on the page. I suddenly realized that I had finished in just a few lines. All I wanted to say was written. I share those words with you now:
Hope is gone
Dream has shattered
Life's meaning lost
Just like that I was done. Nothing left to say. Moral of the story, Life continues...but my hopes, dreams, meaning ends here, now.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I am in reality with the second line
The third line is the so-sad truth

dreams only shatter in the mind's eye - new dreams will be born
life's meaning is the biggest mystery of all - not lost, but unnoticed
life is a battle. if you give up, life wins. there are no answers in death. life is a race - you can't crash your car into the wall just because you're in last place. everybody has a purpose. it's your job to find out what that purpose is and to let it fluorish.
i don't know what happened to you to make you feel this way, but a lot of us are in the same boat, in the same type of situation, and we realize and identify what you're going through.
