I am a 35 year old female who was been diagnosed with DDD in my lumbar spine and DDD and stenosis in my cervical spine. I have seen a neuro surgeon. I have had physical therapy with no lasting results. I have 2 steroid injections in my lower back and one in my neck with no results. The doctor basically said that all he could do for me now is surgery. I want to save surgery as my absolute last option. He also will not give me any medications. I just made it through the worst weekend and I need some relief. Could anyone suggest where do I go now? Which type of physician should I try to see? Orthopedic, pain management, another neuro? Any advice will be greatly appreciated and I feel frustrated and confused.
