Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

Just wanted to share this with you all! This same initiative is taking place throughout Europe by AntiCoagulation Europe (www.stoptheclot.com). Please note the web address, not to be confused with www.stoptheclot.org which is for those in the U.S. (completely different organizations) Now I should note that this initiative appears to be brought to you by Sanofi-Aventis, makers of Lovenox. The Coalition to Prevent DVT campaign was created by the same Pharmaceutical company.

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...

Has anybody ever heard of them?
I've posted information about that organization before. I'm not sure just how active LifeBlood is, maybe some of our UK friend can answer that.
The campaign mentioned above, I believe, is an attempt to establish something like we have here in the States, March DVT Awareness Month.
How are things going on your end? Dusting off the bike yet?

I will be calling the surgeon today to find out if any date has been set for me... I want it done NOW so that I will have fully recovered before the summer, know what I mean?
Well the bike NEVER did accumulate much dust, I never did let it go, but I am waiting for a confirmation from my Hemmotlogist that I am OFF the anticoags before I do anything to the rigue. Should not need much TLC since back in 2007 I had it tunned and never rode it, just have to tighten some cables and make sure I still have oil in the suspensions and brakes.
Aside from that,work, work, work...
I have had quite a lot to do with the UK organisation Lifeblood...and they were very helpful to me when I was first diagnosed with PEs. My Mum and I have also done some fundraising for Lifeblood...and myself and another young clotter are attempting to raise awareness of blood clots in young people. I have also met with the executive officer of Lifeblood - who is lovely and desperate to raise awareness of clots in the UK...my story is also on the Lifeblood website! Not sure how useful this info is for anyone...but just thought i would share! :-) xxx
