Finally after months of trying to locate someone who specializes in lymphedema therapy, I began a program yesterday. A therapist who was helping me with a ruptured achilles on my "other leg" suggested that a lymphedema therapist might be able to help with the pain and swelling I experince in my DVT leg especially after a long day at work and an hour or 2 of physical exercise. I learned more about what to do to help myself in 1 hour yesterday with her then any advice that doctors gave me. I look forward to learning more from her each week until I can manage on my own. If you still have pain and swelling due to Post Thrombotic Syndrome you may want to see if there is a therapist who can help you. I am finally hopeful after a long time of feeling that my lowered level of exercise would have to be good enough.
