Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
I've researched and talked about aspirin therapy with several doctors, incl my hemotologist, and here's what I know: aspirin therapy is good for preventing arterial clots (i.e. heart attacks), not so much venous clots (i.e. DVTs, phlavitis). True, it doesn't hurt, but it's yet been proven to prevent venous episodes either.
I've been off coumadin for a month or so and have yet to start aspirin. I have "phantom pains" of where my clots were, but my doppler shows them to be almost gone.
