So, yesterday was a total nightmare. For five years, I've kept my dogs' toothbrushes and tooth paste in one place. So I get the brushes and the toothpaste, start brushing my littlest dog first. I noticed she jerked a bit, but that can be normal for her.
I put the paste on for the second dog's brush, and something caused me to stop. I looked at the paste, and it was Voltaren Gel (Diclofenac Sodium). I couldn't believe it. For some unknown reason, my husband laid it by the dogs' toothbrushes, and their toothpaste wasn't visible. It was all rolled up, like their toothpaste.I had to call The Pet Poison Control Line. It costs $50. before they would talk to me. And I was getting hysterical because it was taking so long. However, they developed a treatment plan for my Vet, so the Vet didn't have to research it and could start immediate treatment for her. Such a nightmare....given I had surgery, I couldn't drive. I called my sister and I was so upset, that when I tried to talk, nothing would come out. I felt like I was having a stroke. She had my brother came over, and he took us to the Vet. Today, my fur baby is her perky little self. Live and learn.
