Avatars are missing. Then they're back. Then they're missing again.
The site is slower than molasses. Has been for a while.
Journals, discussions & comments don't always post.
Messages don't get sent.
Sometimes when things are posted or sent, there's no notification/confimation.
The activity page won't stop loading when using firefox on a mac. I have to manually stop it. Yet the group, journal (both mine & my friends) and messages pages load properly.
Doesn't matter whether cookies/cache are cleared or not. Isn't my IP. Isn't my device. All other websites work well and none experience these issues. These are typical ds issues that have been going on for all of time I've been on the site.
I'm not sending in feedback because that does no good. I never get anything other than a canned response acknowleging receipt of the feedback that says, "Hi, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We thank you for your patience and we will look into this issue." (I ran out of patience years ago.) Besides that what this group is for - says so right at the top of the page.
The ONLY other "follow-up" (and I use those words very loosely) I get are infrequent requests asking me how they did which never helps since they rarely communicate after the canned response and haven't permanently fixed the same recurring problems in over 10 yearss. Just in case there's anyone behind the ds curtain, please note: No communication and lack of response here AND in this group from you sends a strong NEGATIVE message to the users, ESPECIALLY when you don't PERMANENTLY fix the REPEATED problems.
I'm just stating facts, NOT complaining.
The main reason I'm posting this here is so others who are experiencing similar (or other) issues know they aren't alone.
I don't have any trouble with speed in my laptop...it's almost instantaneous.
Empathy, yours is missing also.
I reloaded the page and everyone's avatar came back
And its just as slow loading as firefox. But its NOT slow loading on other sites.
I finally gave up on Safari on my computer. I already have Google Chrome, and it works much better than Safari, which basically was broken. Why create website that doesn't work with popular browsers? The old DS, worked the same on all my browsers. But, let's not go there, unless DS lets us they are going back to the old DS. Sigh! We know that is never happening!
I notified DS using the feedback form and let them know what y'all are saying. Not sure when I will get an answer as I think the small crew we had is working on some new launches for the parent company, Sharecare.

I also noticed that sometimes my avatar in the upper right corner would be missing on some pages but not on others. Just checked and right this second, Everyone's avatars are showing up on this page.
Also, even when an avatar is showing the little smiley face would be missing or it would show up but the avatar wouldn't. Its like there are little gremlins in there who can't make up their minds, lol.
I don't get it. Of course, they are working on Sharecare leaving all of us behind. It feels like this site is someone's hobby.
Don't get me wrong, I complain because I care and miss what we had, it makes me very sad. Not many people visit the boards anymore and new people come and go like wildfire.
Oprah and Ozz just don't care. It is all about money and sharecare
Harper I agree 1000%!! I have long believed that ds is a tax write-off that they use as a bridge to the mama site. And nothing more. :-((
99% of the time I have no issue logging on, posting, etc whether it’s via Safari on my phone or Chrome on my laptop. IE didn’t work great for me, but that was not exclusive to the DS site. What also can affect the experience is if you use an old browser. Also if you have a lot of other stuff installed on your computer/laptop that can also cause things to run slow.
Except for when this current version of DS initially was rolled out things generally work fine for me. In fact, it’s far less buggy than the old version. I felt like there were constant buggy issues with the old site.
When the new format was created, I tried to cancel the notifications. But, they have slowly become outrageous. There are times when they go down in number. Then , other times they don't.
Then, I know I have been receiving a daily hug from one person. Sometimes I get notified, but most the time, not. Then, those hugs disappear. What's with that. Makes me think I'm getting hugs and messages from others that disappear.

I've tried to contact you about this issue a few times. But, no answer. Then, I get you little survey email about how well you did. SERIOUSLY!!!
I stay with DS because of some of the friends I've met. Not for the service.
I'm just saying.
