My grandson is having great difficulty sleeping although one he is asleep he can sleep seven hours or more.. He is 15 years old and seems to stay up forever into morning hours. He states he can not sleep. We have started the long process of testing and initially he shows no cortisol abnormalities However, he has the buffalo hump, strange rashes, stretch marks and gains weight extremely easily even though he eats much less than other teenagers. We are now waiting for an enchronologist referral. Meanwhile, he continues to take his asthma meds and we are experimenting with his taking them at different hours. We are trying to get to the bottom of this . Is it Cushings, anxiety or the asthma meds which the doctor claims are now quite low (the steroids were fairly high in the past-14 months ago)? I feel we need to try to eliminate each cause one by one. If anyone has suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
