Is their anyone that has had a baby after being dx. With cushings's? My husband and I have really been thinking about having another child, but honestly I am scared my body won't be able to handle it or the baby may be born with defects.

I was diagnosed about 5 months after... I had high bp all throughout my pregnancy. I had pre eclampsia and delivered 6 weeks early. I wonder sometimes if I had developed it before I got pregnant...

Were u already taking medicine during your pregnancy, and was your baby born with any problems? My fear is that the medicines I'm already on will cause birth defects or my body just won't be strong enough to handle the stress, when I exert my body a lot I have syncopy episodes.

I wasn't on any meds for cushings since I didn't know I had it. My daughter was fine- just early and weighed 3 pounds. However she's great now! I would ask your dr. What meds are you on?

I am on prednisone, flornef, anti anxiety, and anti dependants, and some of them I no I can't take while pregnant, what surgery did u have? Did u gain a lot of weight your pic look great I had got up to 226 pounds from being normally about 140 pounds but have lost about 31 pounds since surgery

Chances are you will have to stop all those meds. What surgery did you do? Can I ask why you are taking those meds? How are you feeling since the surgery? That pic was taken in 2005. I wish I could look like that. I weigh about 170 now. Before pregnancy and cushings I weighed about 130. I hope to go down after the surgery with diet and exercise.

I had to have both of my adrenal glands taken out because of tumors and operative cortisol levels, by the time I was dx. It was life threatening to me I had all the symptoms except my cycle didn't stop I have to take the steroids for life and I still suffer from anxiety and depression since the surgery, I stated in a bad mood all the time it was like having pms everyday, but the antidepressants help. Since the surgery I still have somedays that I feel horrible but not as much as before surgery I have syncopy at times so I wear a medic bracelet the good thing is I can loose weight now

I had both of my adrenal glands removed at age 17. I had my first child at age 26-baby weighed 5lbs, 13oz. Second child born when I was 32-baby weighed 5lbs.7 oz. Both were born about 3 weeks early with low blood sugar. They were given a sugar bottle and everything turned out o.k. My second child was delivered by c-section because of placenta abruption.

Thanks for sharing that CyndiSalmon, you let me know that it is possible, but what about your overall health carying the the baby, were you sick a lot, did u work, and what about your meds you were taking?

With my first child I worked at a local hospital as a Health Information Management Administrator. Very stressful job but I made it. I only gained about 20 lbs. The only meds I took were Prednisone and Florinef. With the second pregnancy I was a stay at home mom but gained around 30 lbs. Was on the same meds but was on an anti-depressant. Had to come off of that. I did fine. Oh, one thing I forgot. With my 1st preg. I did have abdomenal pain because when the baby grew it pulled on the adhesions which had formed from my bilateral adrenalectomy. My surgery was back in the 70's and was cut from side to side. To ease the pain I had to have intercostal nerve blocks. But the doc numbed me up so I didn't feel a thing. Hope this info helps.

It did help, I'm just worried that my body won't be able to handle the stress because I still get very weak at times and I work full time, and times are to tight for me to be an at home mom, I'm also worried about having to stop my antidepressant, and antianxiety, and I'm not a very fun person to be around without them.

I had a horrible experience. My Cushing's symptoms began about a month before I found out I was pregnant with our 2nd son. 5 months later I was in congestive heart failure. 2 weeks after I was released from the hospital, Patrick was stillborn on 3-15-11. He was 28 weeks gestation. All the doctors missed the Cushing's. I saw an endocrinologist in Nov. After my health rapidly declined. She Dx me and now I am 7 weeks post op and doing pretty well. Not sure about more kids yet. I have a 3.5 year old son who is the light of my life. Hoping my heart fully recovers now!

Well, we did get pregnant last July, but I miscarried in Aug. my OB don't think it had anything to do with the cushing's, I'm not sure all I know is I don't have a baby.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
