I've had UC since 2000. Last year i had my second colonoscopy done to find out i have Pancolitis(ulcers thru out entire colon). Dr put my on Prednisone and doubled my dose of Asacol. Since this time(July2007) i have been on steriods twice and Asacol thru out and its been a great stuggle to avoid flare ups. Now i'm unemployed without insurrance and in tremendous pain on a hrly basis. I've been trying to find natural remedies as an alternative to medical treatments because well i dont wont futher symptoms or adverse side effects and i dont want to be dependent upon any meds. My pains are mainly one inch or half inch below my sternum unless i'm unable to releive the gas pain by belching. then the pain works its way down. Another symptom of mine is chronic diarrhea. I cant even recall my last normal or close to solid bowel movement. I was taking zantac for the upper abdominal gas pain and heartburn but again do not wanna become dependent and desisted. So started taking acidophilus. i havent discovered a change in my condition. I've researched the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and am totally lost. I'm not sure what to eat at this point. Everything and nothing cause me pain. I'm not sure of any allegeries i may have. I'm so desperate to find relief. I would do practically anything to be free of pain even just for one day weekly. Can someone please give me some direction???please

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
