So far I have been hospitalized twice for c diff, which starts out as a stomach ache, turns to nausea, then leaves me vomiting, having diarrhea, and in severe pain for at least six hours. The vomiting and diarrhea usually subside by then, but I am still in lots of stomach pain. By then I get to the hospital and get put on fluids, cipro and flagyl. I usually can't eat for a few days and when I get out I still don't feel so great.
The worst thing about this is the pain and the fact that it can come on so suddenly.
