i've never had a blockage yet, but i'm wondering if it's possible to get one in your rectum? most of my crohn's issues come from an ulcer in my rectum, and lately it's been hard to evacuate anything. i feel the urge to go and can feel stuff inside me (lots of bloating), but when i go, only a little bit comes and and it's very mucousy and with a little blood. it feel like the hole is too small or something...it also stings when anything passes...so i'm wondering if the ulcer has gotten worse and turned into inflammation that is blocking the passage of stool? this has been going on for 2-3 days now. also, every time i go it seems like my muscles down there spasm...like how your stomach spasms when you throw up, except from down south on the other side...it just spasms over and over with nothing coming out...like dry heaving.
also, i have been lucky that i've NEVER had stomach pain with my crohn's symptoms (just weird bm's), but today i started feeling a dull pain in my lower right side of my tummy. it has been coming and going, but i'm starting to worry that i may be getting a blockage...i'm on pretty mild meds (lialda and canasa suppositories) and am not sure what to do. should i stop eating and go to a liquid diet for a few days??
anyway, any advice would be much appreciated from anyone who has experienced these symptoms.
merry christmas to all!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I would definitely call your doctor and try to just stick with liquids. If I get any pain, I go immediately to liquids.
I definitely think it's possible to be blocked by inflammation in your rectum. Or even scar tissue.
YMAMOT, I can totally relate to the alien baby part! Going to the bathroom when you're blocked is horrible.
My doc also checked and said I had an Anal Fissure which accounted for the stinging pain, bright red blood and some of the swelling.
I'm so sorry you're going through this! It sucks!! Hang in there and definitely try a liquid diet for a couple days. If it gets worse or doesn't seem to get better after a day or two then definitely get to a doctor! I hope you feel better soon!
