When a friend of mine was dealing with colon cancer, there were some certain things that caused her a great deal of stress and frustration. One that nearly tore her apart was the fact that some friends and family members did not accept her decisions as far as her treatment. After a great deal of research and soul-searching, she had made the choice to forgo chemo. But she had several people nagging at her to do the chemo thing. As far as I'm concerned, it was Carol's body, her decision, her life...whether I, or anyone else, agreed with her, I felt it was not up to me to argue. She appreciated that. I lost count of the number of times she came to me in tears because someone had once again not respected her decisions. So, please, keep this in mind if you know someone with cancer, or any other disease, and you don't agree with their decisions.
