My mom was diagnosed about 10 years ago and has been in end stage since before Christmas last year. She has been in the hospital for about 2 months now started with pneumonia. Before she was diagnosed she was healthy aside from high blood pressure. Friday night her sugar went above 500 and she is now on insulin. Is this the start of organ failure? Her vitals are good, but she goes into panic attacks and they sedate her it is such a vicious cycle that she is not going to improve enough to get off the sedation to exercise. When they hit the organ failure about how long can they have left. Thanks

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
