Mom was diagnosed two years ago with COPD and the beginnings of emphysema. She does not take her medication as she gets real angry about that and states that she does not need it as she is in the early stages. Well that's been two years ago and right after her lung collapsed. Is it okay if she doesn't take the inhalers? Does the medicine help slow the progression or help her quality of life? Is it okay if she hasn't been taking the medications over the past two years?
